With The Cert-Pro Autoscan
Filter Test System
The Autoscan system was developed
specifically for use by filter manufacturers. The in-plant test system
provides fully automatic leak testing of HEPA and ULPA grade filters. The
AutoScan system allows one operator to perform Polystyrene (PSL) leak
testing on one or two fully automated test fixtures. The AutoScan system
provides the following functionality:
- Fully automatic control of the motion control system. The
AutoScan system will control the size of the filter leak test scan path and scan speed. This
allows for filter leak testing of filters from 12" x 12" to the full size capability of
the system.
- Calculation of test airflow rate. The AutoScan system will read
the HEPA or ULPA filter pressure drop across a flow orifice plate to determine the test airflow
rate. The system allows for calibration curves of three (3) independent flow
orifices to accommodate a very wide range of filter test airflows.
- Automatic upstream sampling. By use of set-up screens, the user
can define most of the parameters for the filter test. These items include
the probe dimensions, scan rate, frequency of upstream Polystyrene (PSL)
upstream particle count,
selection of upstream particle counter, leak sensitivities and sample purge
time between the selection of upstream or downstream sample sources.
- Ability to use 1 to 3 airborne particle counters. The Autoscan
can read the TTL signals from up to three separate particle counters
simultaneously. This provides maximum throughput and productivity.
- Full control of the upstream and downstream particle samples. The
Autoscan system includes an AS2100 system controller which provides all TTL
pulse counting (3 counters), filter pressure drop, flow orifice pressure
drop, home switch detection and an integrated Emergency Power Off (EPO)
switch to shut down the system.Sample Diluter. The AutoScan system can interface with the
Cert-Pro particle sample diluter or use a customer supplied particle sample diluter. If using
a customer supplied diluter, the software can be configured for a fixed rate
dilution ratio or measure a linear voltage input to determine the actual
dilution ratio. Upstream Sample diluters are required to reduce the
Polystyrene Latex Sphere (PSL) particle concentrations below the maximum
particle concentration of the particle counters.
- Highest Quality X-Y actuators. The AutoScan system utilizes the
highest quality X-Y actuators. These actuators are constructed with ground
ball screws for the ultimate accuracy and reliability.
- High precision Servo motors. The AutoScan system utilizes the
highest quality servo motors for driving the X-Y actuators. The software
fully controls both the X and Y axis at all times, receiving feedback
information to determine the current probe position during the can. This
system provides maximum accuracy of the location of the filter leak in
real-time as the scan progresses.
- Perimeter Scan first. This selectable feature scans the filter
perimeter first and then leak scans the filter media. Because the majority of
filter leaks are found on the perimeter bond joints of the filter this can
be a huge time saving feature, allowing the user to abort the scan when
perimeter leaks are found rather than scanning the filter media during the
initial scan phase.
- Air Velocity Uniformity. This optional feature allows the use of
either a single or 4 probe anemometer, mounted the X-Y actuators. This
option provides an HEPA or ULPA filter air velocity profile over the entire filter face. Scan
rates, number of samples per location, test grid sizes are all easily
programmed by the user
